Visit #1
TS There were unique children I met today. SD When I first stepped into the gym, where the Boys and Girls Club of America was held, I felt extremely awkward I wasn't sure what to do. CM I sat down at one of the tables where a few kids were sitting. CM I sat there for a moment only thinking that I hope that this awkward feeling will ease at some point. SD There were two kids that stood out to me the most Seven and Maya. CM They seemed to welcome me with open hands making it easier for me to feel more relaxed. CM They both asked me general questions and statements, such as: "how old are you?", "you're really tall" and "are you in high school?". SD Maya seemed remind me of myself. CM When awkward times came she would ask questions. CM She seemed also like me when I was younger, I used to be sort of a "tom-boy" and would burp with some of the other boys but yet sometimes I would where things most girls would wear at that age. CS I can't wait until my next visit to get closer acquainted with more of the kids I met that day.
