Education:
Is It Important or Not?
TS Is education important? CM The best way to find out if education is important is that you should experience it. CM Surely the experience of education will be a memory that you will never forget, whether it’s good or bad. CS Listen to what your parents say before you say that education is not important.
TS No one really wants to go to school, but Atticus tells Scout that education is very important in life. SD Atticus does not want Scout trying to skip school because he feels that it is extremely vital for her to go. CM Unfortunately, Atticus never got to go to school and he doesn’t want his daughter to take after him. CM Atticus doesn’t want Scout to turn into the Ewells, a dirty uneducated family (appostive). SD Atticus still wants to read with Scout so she can build her vocabulary even though the teacher found out and got angry at him. CM Atticus thinks that the teacher shouldn’t be threatened by the fact that he reads with Scout and she might be learning something new. CM He will definitely make sure that Scout’s teacher does not hear of them reading together because he would probably get in trouble and might hurt the chances of good education for Scout. SD Scout’s father made it clear that he wants her to go to school. CM Back then, if your child did not go to school the guardian would get arrested and Atticus would not want that at all. CM Atticus knows that Scout thinks the teacher is annoying but he had a clever saying to make her understand the teacher’s ways: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view-“(Lee, page 39). CS Its best that Scout follows these rules or she could get into a mess that no one would want to clean up.
TS Everyone thinks on the way to a good education takes time that most of us do not want to spend. SD The process is unfortunately, excruciatingly boring most of the time. CM For example, during class if the teacher is talking for awhile people usually don’t pay attention because they are bored to tears. CM I know from experience that sometimes I would come home from school complaining about how boring it is, but my parents just tell me that I will get a good education and it will help in the future. SD Atticus will never understand the experience of school because he was never sent to school when he was a child, so he doesn’t have that great of an education. CM Scout one day comes home from school and says that she does not want to go to school anymore. CM It is very hard for Atticus to tell her that Scout has to go to school, knowing that she’ll just say that he never went to school and he turned out fine (participle). SD At one point or another we all figure out that to have an education is very important for our future to be bright. CM Throughout school we tend to get closer and closer to finding out what we want to do when we grow up. CM We all get eventually convinced in different times that having an education is very accommodating. CS Whether we like it or not education is always going to be the most important thing in the career.
TS You, the reader, have heard the thoughts about education from Atticus. CM Take awhile to let his points settle in then make your choice. CM I made my choice after hearing numerous lectures from my parents why education is important. CS It’s always wise to listen to what people have to say before making a comment.

Hi Cassy. You are a hard-working English scholar, for sure. I enjoyed reading these paragraphs. Some of the chunks are very well organized. One suggestion: The S-V split in the first paragraph is a participle, but it should be an appositive. See what you can do about that. Also, the topic sentence in the first paragraph should mention Atticus, because the entire paragraph is about him. Good luck!
Cassy,
I really liked your work that you have so far. The second paragragh was very interesting and held my attention. You should make sure that you read over your work when you are done because I found a few errors you might like to correct. Here are a few: "sometimes I would com to school" "because he never sent to school" "eventually convinced in different time". If you just fix these up, your essay will be great!

Cassy,
This is a very good essay! What I like about the essay is how smooth the writting is, it flows nicely. However I also noticed a few spelling errors, these will hurt your grade if they ar not fixed. For example in the second paragraph you said "com". Lastly the second to last sentence in the second paragraph is a little confusing, try to play around with the words to make it flow nicer.
